Hey I just got back from visiting mom and richard in SJ alittle while ago. I helped mom and rich paint the living room and kitchen and tear down that horrible wall paper in the diningroom. It looks great! It will look even better when they finish the diningroom and the bathroom. The jobs in fredericton suck, they all pay shitty or they are on brookside. Nothing looks to hopeful, I found this international broadcast alliance thing, where you make toll free calls and leave messages, you can make $375 a week, but it doesn't say how many calls that is, and you have to send 35$. Anyway I'm going to go take a bath....all my muscles are aching from painting. write later....

I guess that I didn't get a job there yet. It was just an info session and typing test. I have an interview on Monday. grrr..... AND I don't have seniority at this one. The one in SJ goes by seniority, but not this one. Which means that I would have to work shitty hours again, unless I drew number 1 or 2 in putting dibs on my hours. This sucks!! I came home and called a guy about a kiosk job. They pay good and all I would have to do is sit at a table thingy. Easy enough. He is going to call me Monday b/c he is in meetings right now. At least I'll look eager, it just came out today in the paper. The girl on the phone said that she had reviewed my resume and past info and that I was eligable for re-hire....I figured that that meant that I was hired. She said that she didn't want to go into to many details becaus eI would get all the information I needed at the information session. I am not going to work nights again....I had no life last summer. I slept, worked, ate sometimes, and that was it. I'm not doing that again. I hope this new kiosk thing works out. Write later....

I got a call from Cendant this morning. I got a job there!! The girl on the phone didn't tell me to much about the position, but I go to orientation tomorrow. There was a guy in my orientation class last summer, and I only seen him on test days, so I think thatI get first choice of hours out of the other temps. I have seniority!! Woohoo!! I have to be there for 9am, but orientation is only an hour, so I still willl have the rest of my day left. I think I am going to check out the Brookside mall while I'm over there. Cendant is attached to the mall. I'm going to take a cab over and the bus back. I don't have to pay anything for the bus, just show them my student I.D and STU has some type of arrangement with the goverfnment. I'll write tomorrow and let you know what my hours will be and any other interesting info.....

Tomorrow is my last day at the Hilltop!! Woohoo!! I got home friday and there was a message from Cendant on the phone for me, so I'm going to call on Monday to see what they wanted, hopefully to hire me. I have already decided that I don't want to work nights, so that isn't going to happen this year. I think that I get more choice over my hours than I did last year b/c during training last summer there was a guy who was returning and I only seen hime on orientation day. I think he got to work days. I'm hoping that I can work something that will work around the bus schedule. Anyway I'm going to call and see. Sams parents came up to visit today. They got here really early, Sam and I were just getting out of bed when the phone rang, letting us know they were here.He then left to go to work, and John, Barb, Cassidy and I went over to Zellers. We also took a trip to Odell park, which is closer to the apartment than I had thought. It is really nice at the park, kind of like the irving nature park. Anyway I'm going to go take the puppy for a walk.....write later....comment!!

I have had no luck in the job department. All the jobs are either working in a restaurant, which I'm not doing, or don't pay enough. I'm not super worried about it though, I'm sure something will open up. Maybe a call center that is closerr to me will have job openings. I would much rather work on this side of the river than driving 45 minutes to get to Cendant. I didn't realize it, but Cendant is actually part of the Brookside mall. Which would make things easier when getting the bus. I'm still very happy about giving my resignation at the Hilltop. I worked Sunday like always, but at least I'll get time and a half for it, I think. And Cathy was there to help me, it was really busy in the morning, 120 people, but the evening one was only 93. Anyway gotta go look on the job sites, any suggestions for job sites that are good would be appreciated. :)

Hey, I gave my 2 weeks notice today. It is a huge relief knowing that I only have to work 4 more shifts. I applied at Cendant a yesterday and recieved an email notifying me that they recieved my resume. I found out that the bus runs pretty close to cendant and would only take me 45 minutes, same as in SJ. AND the great news that cabs are only $6.50 from across the river to way up here on Priestman. I was so happy to learn this. That's why I hadn't applied before, b/c I thought the cabs would be $30 or more. I hope that I hear back from them soon, well at least within the next two weeks. Sam is doing great at Keystones. They have taken all of his suggestions about cooking, and they want to give him full time hours for the end of this month. They also want him to go to Moncton this Monday with the head cook to represent keystones at a cooking conference. He's doing great there!! The manager has told him that she is really impressed with him. Anyway gonna go look online at the job sites........:)

I do not want to work at connect north america!! You don't actually get paid $9.35, like advertised, you get $7.27 for the first 200 hours, and then you are reimbersed the $2.08 for the 200 hours. Then after the 200 hours you start getting paid the $9.35. What a rip off!! It's inbound too. I don't think I could handle that, it's frustrating enough trying to get sales when people are calling you, I don't even want to think about how hard it would be when your harrassing them. I went and applied at Zellers and the Wicker emporium when I got home. Hopefully the Wicker place hires me, it doesn't get busy in there and diesn't look to hard. I am so disappointed, nothing pays any good in Fredericton, well except Cendant and that's starting to look better and better. Which really saddens me, Cendant is looking good. Anyway gotta go search jobs......:(

Tuesday, May 03, 2005

I just got a call back from Connect North America. I have an interview tomorrow morning at 10:30am. The shifts would be 4pm-11pm. I had applied for any day shifts that they had, but I really just didn't want to end up working until 2am like last summer. I wouldn't mind working until 11pm though. I would still have my whole day to do stuff and I would get off early enough top go out. I really hope that they give me the job, so that I can go right into the Hilltop and give my two weeks notice. I know that another cook they have can cover the buffet until they find someone new, cause she covered a saturday shift for Cathy before. I was just looking at the bus schedule and it doesn't run past 10:30pm though. I don't care cause I'll just walk home or take a cab. I took cabs home all last summer, at least they are cheaper here. The girl on thephone also said that I could possibly transfer to day shifts after alittle while. I don't care as long as I can have something to go to after the Hilltop. Wish me luck!! :)
