I have Friday off, so I've been working alittle longer each day to make up for the day that I will miss. I worked 6 3/4 hours yesterday, and 5 3/4 today. My kiosk is such a horrible shape, a big rectangular box, I puty wheels onit, which help, but is stupidly awkward. Anyway I didn't get much sleep last night, well was woken up really early ( the city is digging up the street directly in front of my apartment), I was on my way to the bus stop for the 11:48am bus, but seen it drive out while I was still down the street, after having the box trip me, hit me, and generally disappoint me, I threw it on the ground and KICKED it. I really kicked it too. I have been lugging this thing to and from the super store twice a day, 4 days a week , for two weeks, and I finally cracked. I was so freaking tired, I started crying, I went in the store, still lugging this awkward box, and sat on a bench and cried for alittle while, pulled myself together finally, and called a cab. I got there, set up and waited. I stood there for almost 3 hours before someone signed up for a sample. Although at one point an older man stopped and said " can I ask you a question?" I told him sure, and he asked me if I knew where the first donut had been made, I said no, and he said " in Greece". It was a cute little joke, and it brightened my day alittle. I ended up getting 9 samples given away, 6 of them in the last hour and a half. I asked customere service if it was ok if I left the box there, and he let me, so now I don't have to deal with lugging it anywhere. I feel better now, I don't work tomorrow, I'm hanging out with Jackie for Canada day. I think I'll give her a call now.......write later

Hey, we went out to Vito's to eat.It was very nice. Lisa and Anthony joined mom, Richard and I. The puppy came up with us on Monday, it's so nice having her here for company. I'm very happy that I only work 4 days a week and that I have 3 days, in a row, off. It makes it easier to plan things. I hope he gives me some more things to promote, other than just giving away free samples. It gets kind of boring after standing there for an hour and the only people who are stopping already have subscriptions. Why would you stop at a kiosk to ask "oh what are you promoting?", when you already have the only product that the company sells. Some people expect me to have papers right there, on hand to give away. Silly people. I work tomorrow, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Anyway I'm going to go make something to eat, write later....

Hey, I think I was being a bit hasty in saying that I wouldn't work at the kiosk. Really, I can be available to work anything that she wants me to, I make my own hours with the Daily Gleaner. If I worked 9am-4:30pm, like she wants me to, I can still go downtown and work at the superstore for a couple of hours. He said that I could work as much as or as little as I liked. If it's not to busy he said that I can go for walks around the store for a break, or what ever, So I think I will call Leanette at the kiosk, ask her if the job is still available, crossing my fingers, and if it is, I can just work around that schedule, I'm not doing th in home calling by the way, it doesn't pay enough and is very depressing. Keep your fingers crossed for me.....write later...
Hey, I started the kiosk job down at the superstore on Smythe street. I took the bus there both yesterday and today, but I missed the bus I was going to catch on the way home and had to take a cab home again. The kiosk place didn't call me back. I don't know if I want to work there anyway, she pretty much implied at my interview that she wanted me to quit my job now, so that I would be available 24/7 for her, but then would only give me 10-16 hours per week. Which by all standards, is ridiculous. I don't have all of my stuff yet (I'll be getting gift certificates for the superstore, as an incentive for getting a subscription), which I think would make it easier and more interesting to do. Right now I'm pretty bored. I make my hourly, plus different comissions for different things. I hope it gets better, but at least it's not an all year thing anyway, so I only have to do it for so long. I do like having three days in a row off, I'm going home Saturday night, to SJ, and we're going to stay a couple of days. I' going to take Richard and mom out to eat for fathers day, or if we can get any reservations that is. Anywhoo I'm going to go get some ice cream....write later......

I think and am pretty sure that I got the job at the kiosk. She said that shge would call me by the end of the week. I think that is just to look over the schedules of the other people that work there to see what's going to work out best. I called Jody, my boss at the Daily Gleaner to ask him if I would be able to work my schedule so that I could have August 16-19 off. He said that if I have other obligations, there is no problem working around them. I think I'm going to go do some more calls so that I can get my quota done. I already have 9 out of the 25 I need. He said a little over or under 25. At the lotto kiosk in the fredericton mall the hours would be 10-16hours per week. Really working the 3 jobs will only be like working 1 full time. I'll work 15-20 at the Gleaner, 10-16 at the lotto, and then 2-5 at the in home calls. Really that will just keep me busy all summer and into the school year. I really like my boss at the Gleaner, he is really laid back about stuff, and the hours that I will work. Anyway I'm going to wait to see if the kiosk calls. Write late..... :)
Hey, I just returned a call to the lotto kiosk at the Fredericton mall. I go for an interview at 2pm.
The lady that works there seems very nice. I figure, I can work all day Sunday, some on Monday and Tuesday adn see if she'll work around my schedule for Wed- Sat. Then in between Those two jobs I will do the in home call sales thing, that is only an hour a night. I did a little over an hour last night and I made 9 sample give aways. The mall is only open from 12pm-5pm on Sunday, so I could work for two hours in that one night and make probably half of my quota, then just do the others when I have extra time. I hope I get the job at the lotto kiosk, cause with the one that I do now, I have to travel way downtown and lug the cardboard kiok thing with me. The one in the mall would be good during the school year, and I don't think the one for the paper is yearround. Wish me luck :) Write Later

I just called to check and make sure that my phone number had been changed so that it comes up as private or unknown , cause I went and changed it Friday at an aliant kiosk, and found out that there is nothing about my number being private oir anything on the account. That means that the 100 or so people that I just called all have my name and phone number. I did it on Friday so that it would be ready on Monday. Stupid, useless kiosk guy. Grr.... oh well not much i can do about that now, stupid.....no good.....kiosk....grr...
Hey, I went and picked up my packages for work today. I just spent an hour doing some calls out to people. It wasn't that hard, I'm giving away free 2 week subscriptions at this point. I made 6 in an hour. It pays more, the more samples that you give away. I do the kiosk thing on Thursday at 3:30pm, there are no buses that run any time near or around 3:oopm. I would have to take a bus and get there an hour and a half early. I think I'll just walk down, it's all down hill. Anyway going to go do a few more calls, write later... :)

I have a Job!! WOOHOO!! I now am an employee for the Daily Gleaner. I will work 4 days a week for 4-5 hours at a kiosk for 9-10$ an hour plus commission and will work from home offering newspaper subscriptions and two week samples over the phone to people in Fredericton, No Long distance. They will give me a list of names and I can call as many or as few as I like. I only have to work a couple hours a night for a couple days a week. It's all commission too. I just read a one-two minute script and see what people think, if they subscribe I make $7-$8. This is great, it'll be something that I can do during the school year too. i pick up my packages of info Monday and I start the Kiosk thing on Thursday. The guy said that the hours for the kiosk were very flexible, if I want to work 1-5 or 12-4 choose what hours I feel are best to get subscriptions. Feeling Great, write later....:)
I haven't heard back from either Cendaant or the baggae place, so I searched for some jobs again today. I called the Daily Gleaner, local newspaper, and I have an interview this afternoon at 2pm to work at a kiosk that moves around the city I guess. One month/week at the superstore, then kents, etc. I'll be making new subscriptions. Hopefully this one pays dencently though. I'll write later with the details about the job. :)

I went to an interview at that baggage kiosk thing today. They only pay minimum wage. She'll let me know if I have to job by Friday or earlier. I hope something else comes up. I applied at a whole wack of other places in the mall, Suzy shier, another kiosk thing and at the fredericton mall at sobeys, some old lady store, the lotto booth, and Zellers. I hope I get on at sobeys, they pay pretty good and my friend shannon works there, not right now, but in the winter. Anyway I'm going to listen to an information thingy on the phone about working from home for a company, the girl called me from California, I think it was the one that was in the newspaper. I haven't heard back from Cendant yet, but I'm still looking for a different job. I went to the mall yesterday to see if I could return some pants (I couldn't-no reciept) and I dropped off a resume at a jewelry kiosk place and a bag and luggage kiosk thing. I have an interview Tuesday at 1pm at the bag/luggage place. It's only part time, but I'll just get another job for the summer and quit and do the one I like best in the winter. I've heard that the kiosk places pay well, I hope it's true. I forgot to mention that I'm going to see the Rolling stones and the tragically hip in september. Sam and I wanted to go somewhere this summer, and Tammy called richard and asked if he wanted tickets, so I told him to get sam and I some too. Worked out nicely. Today is a lazy day, I just can't muster up enough energy to do anything. I probably should start taking my vitamins again. I have been eating very healthily lately. Lots of salads, and fruit, except for those peanut butter butterscotch chip cookies yesterday, I've been eating very well. Sam's mom, dad, sister, and cassidy are all coming up on Monday. They are only going to stay up for the day though, we are making a seafood chowder tonight and having it tomorrow when they come. They kind of invited themselves up according to Sam. I really hope that they aren't thinking that, because they have a car now, our apartment is their new summer vacation spot or something. I would not be to impressed if they started coming up every weekend, uninvited. Grr....oh well I'll deal with that if it happens, gotta go make something to eat now........write later.

Hey ! I had my interview today, I think it went very well. The only thing would be that I would probably have to work until 4:30am. The girl interviewing me said that it wasn't absolute, but a definite probablility. The cabs are much cheaper here, so it'll cost me about half of what I paid last summer. It doesn't start until June 13 or 16 I think she said, so I'll keep looking during that period. Hopefully something else will turn up, but this would pay $8.70 + $.36 for every transfer, so it wouldn't take much to get to $10-$12 an hour. I figure that if it turns out that I do work until 4:30am, I'd get home around 5am, stay awake for alittle while , and just make sure that I force myself to wake up around 12-12:30pm every day. I think why I do anything else in the day time last year was because I didn't make myself get up, I just lazed around in bed all day and it made me sluggish. I think I'll do better with it this summer. Oh yeah they lost my application form, so I had to fill another one out again, but I was super nice about it, I said"oh it's Friday anyway, things always get misplaced, it's not a big deal, I can fill another one out." I was very positive and had a great attitude during the whole thing. Anyway wish me luck and keep your fingers crossed for me

Today was a sad day in the history of Krista. I finally cracked. There are no decent jobs in this city, and none of them pay good, so I called Cendant back to re-schedule my interview. They good pay was far to tempting. Really I can do it for a couple months and still look for another job. Hopefully I'll draw an early shift when I get to draw, if not oh well, it' s only for the summer. I would still have two days off in a row and I can still look for other employment while I work there. I already did the training, I'll have to do it again, but that's alright because it will just be a review for me. I'm pretty sure they will hire me, I got a 96.5% on the typing test. Wish me luck, my interview is tomorrow at 10:30am.
