Hey!! I finally got all of my marks....about 5minutes ago. The grade that I had been waiting for turned out to be a B-. The professor teahes in lecture only though....no hand outs to help and no writing on the board....and she talks really fast. So by the time your finished writing the a sentence...she's already said four more and it can get confusing. I'm thinking about getting a tape recorder. Hopefully I can get one cheap, I've never even considered getting one until now, but I have this professor for two classes this semester. Anyway...back to today...which was my first day back.I was supposed to have 3 classes today. I went to my first one at 9am. She told us about the course and we left after abut half an hour (it is supposed to run until 10:20am). Then I have a break...which is helpful during the year b/c you can prepare for the next class....but is really boring in the first week or two when there is nothing to do. Then my next one started at 11:30am. We got there (myself and a couple of girls that I knew from my classical soc theory class) and we waited for 15 minutes and no one showd up, so we all left (supposed to run until 12:20pm). It turned out that we all were in the same modern theory class at 1:30pm so we all just hung out and talked by tim hortons until class. We got there and waited....and waited some more....and still no one.....so yet again....after waiting all day...we were stood up by a professor. So I wasted my whole day waiting for classes that didn't even happen. However while we were waiting my friend Karen invited Melissa and I to a party on Friday the 13th....and it was nice catching up with them while we were waiting. But still, these professors didn't even call the class cancellation phone line or anything. That pisses me off to no end. Proffessors can do what ever they want ( hand things back late, put grades in to the registrar late, miss deadlines altogether, not show up, and have no one to be accountable to). When Karen and I were talking she mentioned that she was a TA and gave me some info about some of the proffs and a couple of warnings about who not to take. In the proffs mentioned not to take she told me not to take O'Regan, I told her that I had taken her last semester (twice) and she gave me her sympathy. While talking I mentioned that I was taking Young offenders and the Juvenile Justice System and she told me taht she had the text, I asked her if she wanted to sell it, but she said she wanted to keep it and that I could borrow it for the semester and just return it when I was finished. That's like $40+ saved. She wanted to keep it b/c it has the Youth Criminal Justice act in the back. I already have the criminal code 2006 which includes the YCJA, so I won't be missing anything when I return it. Anyway Jackie just called me about 5mins ago and invited me to go for a walk and tea and generally hang out before we both get to busy....so I'll write later :)
