I got my student loan "notice of assessment" yesterday. It turns out that, even though I've lived on my own for 2 years and pay all my own bills, I can't get a student loan, because Richard makes to much. Apparently the government expects his 'parental contribution' to be 20 thousand dollars a year!! How realistic is that? The government expects your parents to put you through university if they aren't a low income family. I went to the bank today. I'm going to apply for a student line of credit. Grr....stupid government....... I don't think I'll have to much of a problem getting a line of credit though, I do all my banking there. I'm still going to send in a confirmation of earnings form when school starts so that I can be considered for the millenium bursary. I applied for lots of bursaries last May, so hopefully I'll get a couple of those. I can always stay at connect part time. the pay is decent. The bus schedule changes every September, so if there is one shortly after 11pm, I'd be able to stay. I biked home yesterday. The ride down York street was nothing. The bike back up it was a little more challenging to say the least. I got home in 25mins though. It takes me 40mins to walk up. We got off 35mins early, the systems crashed. I still got my hours though, cause I started 50mins early. I'm going to go buy one of those giant tubs of ice cream at Zellers.....write later....:)
