Last week at work went by pretty quickly. I went into work on Saturday to make up for last Saturday and they let us go early. Instead of working until pm, we only worked until just after 3pm. I think they ran out of leads for that campaign, oh well. Last night Jackie and I hung out and drank. We went downtown at about 9:30pm and watched the fireworks at 10:40pm. They were pretty good, the finale was great. There were tons of people downtown and we just started walking (hoping we would be able to wave a cab down) and we finally came to Greco and called a cab from there, except...no answer, so we just walked home. We took Regent street and made it home in about 30-45mins. It seemed shorter than when I used to walk up York street, hmm. I got home just after 12am and watched some T.V before heading to bed at 1am. Sam stumbled into bed at around 4am...ish. He had to work this morning and it took me awhile to get him out of bed at 8:30 this morning. He worked until 4ish today and his dad just picked him up. He's going to Saint John for a couple of days to see his family. I'll have to ask him what he did until 4am, hmmm.....I slept in ridiculously late after he went to work, until 12:30pm ish!! I feel pretty well rested today though, so I don't regret it in the least! I paid my rent yesterday and it really dawned on me, that I'm going to have to move the end of next month!! I may have found a couple of places. I know of one spot that the landlord is offsite and lives in another building, so if need be I can sneak Gizmo in. A girl that I work with also said that there were apartments on Parkside that allow small dogs (261), but I haven't seen any ads for those ones, so I don't know if they are available. There is an apartment down the street that I partied at once, in the basement, and the top floor tenants are using a flag to cover their bedroom window, which isn't working very well, so that's kind of sketchy....but I might check to see when it's available and the landlords feelings about dogs. I cropped my PEI pictures and they are all ready to be printed. I bought a ton of stuff to make a nice scrapbook. Gotta run....write later ;)

PEI was awesome!! We had so much fun.I give you the weeks events.
Monday- Richard came and picked up Gizmo and drove us downtown to the bus stop where we purchased our tickets and then went to second cup for coffees. We left Fredericton 11:20am, went to Moncton (had a short stop over and switched buses) and were on our way to Charlottetown. We arrived at the bus stop at about 5pm. We took a cab to our B&B and then headed out to find something to do. Well everything was closed, but Sam wanted to look at some tattoo's to cover his pepsi world one on his arm. We got some directions and walked to a tattoo shop. The guy told him that to get a tattoo to cover his, and not look like a cover up it would cost $300+. So...need less to say we decided to wait until he saves some money and really thinks about what he wants, then he can get it done at Pins & Needles here in Fredericton. We were at the end of university ave, away from any of the restaurants on the wharf, so we decided to go to a place called Papa Joes. The food was good as well as the service. We headed back downtown and decided to head into the Olde Dublin Pub on Sydney St. We had some cheap drinks and then headed back to the B&B.
Tuesday-I set the alarm for 9am, but I woke up alittle early and showered and got ready and then bugged Sam to get up. We had breakfast and went downtown to see if the Harbour Hippo (a land & water tour boat) was operating, the girl said that it wasn't operating today because of the weather to my great disappointment. We then went "The Guild" which was a theatre type place, but they had nothing going on that day. The Mack (which was a movie theatre), also had nothing playing that evening. I had suggested going to see "British Invasion-a musical revue" to Sam multiple times, but he said no, until I found an ad for it and he finally read about it. We then went to the Confederation Centre to purchase tickets. It was opening night and the tickets were sparse by the time we got there, but we were able to get two on the balcony. The great surprise was that the tickets were half price (b/c it was opening night). It was a musical tour through the most popular music from the mid 1960's to the mid 1980's. The cast performed over the music of over 80 British artist-the beatles, Dusty Springfield and Tom Jones to Led Zeppelin, the Rolling Stones, and Elton John. They also did songs by the Eurythmics. After the 31/2-4 hour show we went to the olde dublin for drinks again. We had wanted to go back to the Gahan house brewery, but it was closed until Thursday for renovations.
Wednesday-We got up early again and went to Founders hall to buy tickets to go to Cavendish, we missed the early bus though and the next one wasn't until 4pm. We bought tickets for the next morning. So we went to see about the Harbour Hippo, it was running, so we bought our tickets for the 3pm tour. We then walked around and I took lots of pictures (see facebook soon). We arrived back after a quick lunch at A piece of Cake restaurant. It was organized so that the kitchen was right next to the tables and we could watch the chefs prepare our food if we wanted to go over and look. Sam talked to the chef there, she was a graduate of the Holland College Culinary school on the island . We boarded the huge boat/vehicle and took a nice tour around the city and then into the water. It was alot of fun. :) We were going to go to the Culinary school for supper, but one of the tour guides told us that they were closed for the week for something (her boyfriend worked there). We then went to the Confederation Court mall and picked up some key chains. We went to the Olde Dublin Pub for supper and drinks again.
Thursday- We went to Founders Hall and waited for the bus to arrive. We didn't know where to wait and thankfully Founders Hall opened and there was someone to ask. We took the bus there and arrived at about 10am. We got dropped off at Ripleys Believe it or Not!! and the Wax Museum of the Stars. They were both alot of fun and pretty interesting to see. The had a tim hortons there, so Sam and I bought one before going to Ripleys, well we weren't allowed food in either places. After Ripleys we had lunch at Tims. We headed to the Wax museun and seen some interesting characters done in wax, Sam and I got our picture taken with the giant wax Shrek. We then went to Grampa's Antique Photo Studio. We got a picture with me on the bar wearing a fun costume and Sam standing just in front holding a gun and beer, wearing a cowboy type costume. We got one 8x10 for us and 2 5x7's for mom and Rich and his parents. We then walked to Avonlea, but decided that it wasn't worth $22 to go see. We headed back to the visitor info centre to catch the bus, but wanted coffee, so we crossed the street to the convenience store. On one corner was a grave yard and Sam and I went to go see it. Turned out to be the grave site of L. M. Montgomery. We then headed back to the info centre and talked to a couple that had been on the bus and were also waiting. They turned out to be from Australia and were doing month and a half trip all over. They were just coming back from Alaska, and were going to L.A next before heading home. The went to a couple other places in Canada and the U.S as well. We went to Gahan house, but it was still closed, so I called later and made dinner reservations for Friday. We had seen a restaurant called the 42nd and Broadway next to the Olde Dublin and decided to eat there for supper. We went in and got seated and looked at the menu, well we could afford nothing on that menu!! The appetizers were 10-15$ each and the meals were 27-35$ each! So I told our server that we were just looking for something to have for a desert and I order two glasses of yellow tail chardonnay (6$ each) and asked for his recommendation for a desert to go with them, he suggested a lemon tart to share($8). We ate and Sam asked him about wines and ales and chardonnays. He was very nice and stood there talking to us for about 10-15mins. We left him a good tip, we spent $26, just for that, went next door and had supper at the Olde Dublin for $35 (including drinks!). .
Friday- We weren't to sure of what we wanted to do, so we spent most of the day looking at the shops on water street and victoria row. We went to Peake's Quay for lunch and finally tried some oysters (somehting the island is pretty famour for apparently). Our lunch and drinks were good. The oysters tasted kinda like a salty mussel (although I haven't eatten mussels since a bsad experience at Keystone Kelleys 5years ago). The oyster was good, but salty. We decided to go on an afternoon cruise. The ad showed alot of seals, so I was pretty excited to see some seals. Well, it turned out that the lobster fisherman chase the seals away during this time of year and i seen none!! :( This tour went further than the harbour hippo, it was 70mins out on the water. We seen the Lieutenant Governors house and Hillsbourough bridge. The guide told us that the waterfront property on the island sells for $300,000+!! I took some pictures of the gorgeous homes and the red sand cliffs. After the cruise we headed back to the B&B to relax for alittle while it was really warm that day. We then headed to the Gahan house for dinner. The food was really good and we bought some growlers, they were only 14$!! I remembered them being more than that. 64 oz of the ale and a nice jug. I bought a honey wheat ale and Sam bought one as well. He also got an ale called Ironhorse. It had a hint of a chocolate taste to it. We drank there for the night before heading to the B&B.
Saturday- We slept in this day. We weren't to sure what to do so we just walked down Queen street and bought lots of coffee. We ended up having lunch at the "China Garden". The food was good and filling. We then headed down to the shops on the wharf and bought some t-shirts. Sam got an authetic PEI dirt shirt, payin 28$ for his with the taxes, but I (being the cheap individual that I am) just went and bought a gray t-shirt that says i did the island, Prince Edward Island. for $10. We hung out down there for most of the day before dinner. We walked around trying ot find a new place to eat, Sam would have went to the Olde Dublin again, but I wanted something new. I remebered that the guide had recommended the "pilot house" restaurant on our tour and we decided to go there for supper. The food was really good, I got an almod brie chicken dinner and Sam also got something with Brie. I had looked online and found out some info on entertainment for that night. We headed to the Gahan house and had a couple of drinks there at about 9pm, then headed over to the Olde Dublin for live entertainment. The band Shanneyganock was playing. They were pretty good and Sam ended up buying the CD for his mom (the band was from Newfoundland and so is Sams mom), they were all nice enough to sign it for him.
Sunday- We got up and ate, walked around Queen street again, got some more pictures, called a cab and caught the bus for 2pm. We arrived in Moncton at 5pm. Sam went to Fredericton and I wen to Saint John. (I had a dentist appointment). That concluded our vacation, we had a blast!!
I have to go get ready for work, this took longer than I thought it would. I found out yesterday that my work is closed July 2 to celebrate C anada day, the 3 and the 4th as well. We can't call the U.S on the 4th of July weekend, so I get another vacations week, kind of, Woohoo!!! :) I signed a form to see if I can get vacation pay for the 3 and 4th.

Only two days until PEI!! Woohoo!! (upcoming pictures on Facebook)The vet called the other day and told me that there was something still wrong with Gizmo. Apparently there was some blood and something else in it. So I went down and got her some more meds. I'll probably have to bring in another urine sample in a week for analysis (33$ every single time!) and then if there is something still wrong she'll need a bladder ultrasound just to make sure that she doesn't have any kinds of stones. I hope she doesn't, she'd have to have surgery! I'm wondering if it was caused by that dog food?! I returned the cans when I heard about the recall and got new ones. They can't sell dog food that's been recalled, can they? hmm.... All day yesterday I was thinking that Sam and I could go get a drink or something when I got home from work. He was at work until 10pm, so I couldn't suggest it to him, but figured he'd be up for it. I got home and sitting on the floor was a six pack of beer and four white russians!! That made my day! I was so surprised and appreciative. Jackie and I went to Walmart this afternoon and I found a pair of brown dress shorts. The only problem is that I don't have any lite colored shirts to go with them, oh well I'm sure I'll find something. We then headed over to Smitty's and had a nice lunch together. It was a nice day in Fredericton today, very warm. I've had the fan on all day and the windows are open as far as they will go. Write later

Amy and I went to see "Knocked Up" last night. It was really funny, we laughed the whole way through. I think we'll rent it when it comes out on video so that Sam can see it too. Less than a week until our vacation!!Woohoo! It is so sunny and beautiful in Fredericton today, if I had a car and didn't have to work tonight I would go to the beach! :) Hopefully the weather will be this nice in PEI and for the drive to PEI. I think I'll check the weather network for PEI. We need an air conditioner. If anyone knows of any decently priced ones I would appreciate the help. Longer Post later :)

Gizmo is feeling alot better, she hasn't pee'ed on anything since she started her meds and is more playful and happy. Thursday was an alright day at work, I couldn't find a computer to start early (like usual) so I only worked from 5-10:30pm. I had worked an extra shift on Tuesday, so the hours are already caught up. Friday was nice and relaxing. Gizmo and I lazed around and didn't do a heck of alot. Saturday went by really quickly. I worked from 10am-6pm, but it went by fast. I made 1o sales and did a one bill.(combined cell phone charges onto home phone biill=1 bill). Everyone on the phones was pretty nice to me and most of them even thanked me for calling. It was nice. I'm going to go see the movie "knocked up" with Amy from work tomorrow. It looks like it will be funny. Then I'm going to work Tuesday-Friday to make up the hours I'm missing while on vacation in PEI (woohoo). I still don't know if I got approved for vacation time, so I might get paid for it but I don't know. If I do I'll have some extra cash, if not the hours are made up and it will be a slightly smaller pay (still not that bad). I am so excited for our trip, only 8 more days!! Mom and Rich are coming up sometime on Sunday to pick Gizmo and Snowball up (thanks for pet sitting mom). I think that Sam and I will go downtown and get our tickets early and then go somewhere for breakfast since the bus doesn't leave until after 11am. Jackie and I went to Walmart this afternoon and I found a really cute dress. It's a lite material that will be nice to wear on a warm day. I also got Gizmo some more dog food, since she only eats the stuff from Walmart. I'm going to go to tim hortons for a coffee, write later...

I took Gizmo to the animal hospital on Monday. The vet seemed to like Gizmo alot. She puppy talked to her and got down on the floor to pat her. It was a bladder infection. The vet did a urinalysis and gave Gizmo some pills and drops to take. The pills she has to take every twelve hours and the drops just calm her stomach and I give those after the pill once a day. It cost me $108 + cab fare!! What an expensive trip that was! But Gizmo started feeling better a couple of hours after I gave her the first pill. I've had bladder infections before and they are really uncomfortable. I'm just glad that I figured out what was wrong and was able to take care of her. I worked last night, but the dialer was down for the first 20mins, so we just sat there and got paid, which was awesome! I'm going in tonight for extra hours and tomorrow is my scheduled shift. I have Friday off and then work on Saturday. Pat told me that she is showing the apartment to two different people on Saturday. I told her that Sam and I both work, but she said that she would just say Gizmo is visiting for the weekend. What a pain in the ass moving is going to be. I'm just not going to mention that I have a little dog. If it doesn't say in the ad "no pets" and it doesn't say anything in the lease, I'm just not going to tell anybody. There are lots of places downtown that are houses converted into apartments. I don't think having a dog would be to much of an issue in those types of apartments. In July I think I'll start looking for a place, but right now is just to soon. only 12 more days until our trip!! Woohoo! I am so exciting to be taking a vacation and just relaxing for a week. The drive there is only 5 hours, so it's not like we'll be stuck on a bus forever. I think I'm going to bring my bottle to Charlottetown and get it filled at the Gahan house brewery. I paid 10$ for it, so I my did's well get another use out of it. I don't know when mom and Rich are coming to get Gizmo, June 17th is fathers day, if they come up then, I could treat Rich and mom to lunch or supper. I better go get ready for work....write later!
P.S: I don't remember the trip that mom and Sue are talking about, but I do know I don't like camping, we are staying at a bed and breakfast!! :)

Jackie and I went out last night and had a blast!! We began the day with a with a liquer store/grocery trip at about 4:30pm. We got a pizza for supper and headed back to Jackie's to get ready. After supper, we thought Jackie could use a new bar shirt and went to winners, penningtons, and finally zellers (where she found a shirt, but decided not to wear it to the bar). After getting ready and splitting a fuzzy duck, we went to my apartment and played wheel of fortune online and drank some more. We had three more fuzzy ducks, a couple daiquiri's and split a giant beer of some sort. We headed downtown at about 10:30pm, and began the night at Nickyzee's. They had cheap drinks, but after having three drinks Jackie and I decided to go over to Sweetwaters. It was much busier and we had alot of fun dancing and drinking over there. At one point in the evening we were at the rodeo and seen three people line dancing, they didn't look like they were there together, but were all dancing the same. It was pretty neat to watch, one of the line dancers gave Jackie a big hug when she told him he danced well. Gizmo has been acting kind of weird the last couple of days. When we are outside for a walk she stops frequently and tries to go pee. I looked it up online and it said that when dogs do that they might have a urinary tract infection. I'm going to call and see if I can get her in to see the vet on Monday. I hope that it's nothing painful for her. I have the card of a cab driver that said that he would let me have a little dog in the car. My cheque didn't get deposited into my account Friday. I called work and I guess there was a problem and no one got direct deposit. I have to wait until Monday to go get my cheque. What a pain in the ass!! I'm getting very excited about our upcoming trip to PEI, only 16 days until we go! :) I'm going to go get something to eat, write later

Sunday, May 27, 2007

All week I've been making plans for Sam and I to take a trip to PEI. We had alot of fun when we went last time and we figured it would be nice to go again. This time we are staying at a bed and breakfast that is close to everything still. I ordered a PEI travel guide and there is alot of interesting stuff that we didn't even do last time. We are leaving Fredericton on Monday, June 18th at 11am. We get into Charlottetown at 4:50pm. Then coming back home on the 24th, Sunday. Just in time to get something to eat. Last time we went to all the historical landmarks and got alot of the history of the fathers of confederation. This time we are going to go do entertaining things. There is a dinner theatre a couple of blocks from the Inn that I'm going to make reservations at. There is a tour of Charlottetown on the "harbour hippo", it goes on land and water, so we are going to get tickets for that. We are also thinking of spending a day in Cavendish to take in some of the sites there. There is a company in Charlottetown that does day trips to Cavendish beach (same company that runs the harbour hippo). We are going to go to the Gahan house brewery again though, mom said she wants me to pick her up a 'growler' (64oz of the ale brewed on site), it was really good. I'm also going to get another one. There are also a alot of cruises that we can take that sound interesting. I love planning stuff and I am having a ton of fun planning this trip. Sam, is more laid back and told me we should just go to Charlottetown and see what's available for accomodations (he said this while I was trying to find us a place). Just go down!! No plans!! What a wacky idea!! Plans are very important when travelling to another province, city or anywhere (I think anyway). June 18th, is the first day of the Charlottetown Festival as well, so I'm sure it would be a busy time for travellers, go with no reservations!hmph! This time we are going to try oysters, I was looking through the travellers guide and I guess they are popular in Charlottetown. I've never had them before, I wonder what they taste like? I hope the weather is good for our trip. I booked the time off from work a little late, so my supervisor is unsure about vacation pay, but I can make up the hours the week before anyway. At least they know that I'm not going to be there. I can just work alot of extra days to make some extra cash. Sam has quite alittle bit of money put away for this trip as well, he has been "banking" any extra hours at work and adding them to his vacation pay for the last few months. He is now a closer a couple of times a week. The restaurant didn't want to make anyone a new supervisor after the last one left, so they just pay Sam and another guy more when they close. I prefer it that way anyway, so that he doesn't have to close all the time. I know, I work evenings and I'm not home until 11pm anyway, but I like that he doesn't have to give up his awesome day shifts. Tomorrow is Memorial day in the U.S, so I have tomorrow off b/c work isn't even open. Oh, I sold a DSL internet package the other day, it's only the 2nd one that I've sold in a year, it was really confusing, but my supervisor was right there and helped alot. I think I get a bonus of some sort every time I sell DSL. I learned that we are also going to get a bonus for our sales in the LEC campaign that I sell in all the time. I like bonuses, I'm a big fan and will welcome any and all with open arms! :) I've been looking online for jobs more related to my majors, but the only there's not much, something about a parole officer, but there was alot of travel involved. I'll just keep looking. I'm going to get something to eat...write later

Haven't written in awhile and figured I should. I got a wack of cards last week. One from Irene with $20 in it, when I called to thank her she couldn't wait to get off the phone!! What a waste of the .25 cents I used to 411 her phone number. The call lasted 18 seconds!! I also got a card from Chance Harbour, I assumed it was from someone on Richards side of the family. This uncle Lawrence and aunt Marion referenced missing my grandfather (I assumed they meant Harold) and that they wished they had gotten to know me bettter. I called mom and it turned out that they are on the Flower side of the family. They are related to Irene. I'm going to get a thank you card and send it to them, it was thoughtful of them to send me a congratulations card when they don't even know me. I also got a card from, umm...how was it worded?..hmmm......The best aunt in the whole wide world. Sue sent me a very nice card with $50 in it!! I was very happy to see that arrive!!Thanks Sue!! :) Friday M om and Sue drove up to Fredericton to get me, we went to Starbucks and then back to Saint John to pick up Cole at school. We went out east to the new urban earth store (i think that's what it's called) it is exactly the same stuff as a stiches store, even the same brand-Bongo. We didn't see much out east so we them went to the Giant Tigar. I found alot of stuff that I liked, especially a nice dress, but none of it fit when I tried it on, there was alot of material to cover an ass that I just don't have. Saturday we got up early and went over to Sue's to pick she and Cole up. We dropped him off at the movie theatre to meet his grandmother and went to a new liquidation store on Rothsay avenue. I got a nice pair of black sandals for 12$. We all headed back to Sue's and hung out there for a little while until Mom wanted to go home (she has a cist on her side that they popped at the hospital and left a whole on her side that she has to keep pushing the stuff out of, eww....sorry mom, but it made me cringe). So we didn't do to much on Saturday. We rented a couple of movies, we watched Half Nelson with Ryan Gosling first. It really wasn't good, there was no character development at all. The movie kind of started in the middle of a story but never explained anything. Mom left after about 45mins to go to bed. I turned it off about another 30mins of the undeveloped story. All I got from it was that he was a history teacher, and coach that was hooked on heavy drugs. We didn't have time to watch the other one. Today I woke up feeling alittle homesick, so I got Richard to drive me home today instead of tomorrow. Saturday night Richard surprised mom and I with some lobster! We had eatten, but made room for some lobster, they were really good. I still had a body to bring home with me. Mom also gave me a package of frozen scallops. Sam and I can have those tomorrow, I'm pretty sure that there is a package of bacon in the freezer. I think I'll go break up that lobster body now...mmmm....

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY MOM!!!! I'll treat you to something when I'm in Saint John next weekend. Get Richard to take you out for dinner today or tomorrow (it might not be as busy). So, work is going well enough, still easy and flexible. I slept in today, Sam and I had a couple of drinks last night and hung out with Tina and Steve. I looked online and the classifieds are full of apartments for rent, I don't think I'll have to much trouble finding a place. If push comes to shove I'll rent in a building with not to many apartments and an off site landlord. That way I can just keep Gizmo a secret if need be. Sam and I went to the Hilltop last night for dinner. The food was good and the menu was very big, with lots to choose from. We will probably go there more often now. Gizmo and Snowball are doing well, both are happy (i think). Jackie and I went to see "Georgia Rule" on Friday. It was a cute movie. We also stopped over at Walmart and I was able to get Gizmo some more food. I'm going to go figure out what to have for supper......:)

Graduation day was awesome!! I got up in the morning and got ready for the rehearsal at 10am. That lasted until about 11am. Mom, Lisa and Richard arrived at my place at about 12:30pm. We decided to take the car to STU at 1pm and luckily were able to find a parking spot. Although some guy in a ridiculously large truck almost backed into us. Mom, Richard, Sam and Lisa went and got seats while I went into James Dunn to get instructions with the other graduates. It weas alittle discouraging the amount of time that the university allotted for the graduates to get into apohabeticla order. Seriously, we just finished a degree and there were posters on the wall for each letter. Still they thought we needed 45+minutes to do this. Then went and sat for a long time for the graduates to get their hood and alumni card. Apparently beng a member of the alumni gets people really good discounts on their insurance. hmm.... I got a bad burn on my chest where the gown opened and my dress went into a V neck. It feels hot and achy all the time, I've been putting moisturizer on it, but it still aches. Mom and Richard got my diploma framed in an expensive frame and St thomas mattt, with the crest, (thanks guys!), they also picked up my yearbook and the composite of all the grads. Mom got me a gift bag of stuff as well. Then we all went Swiss Chalet for supper. It was a really nice day. Beautiful weather, nice company, and good food! I worked last night and made 4 sales, which was a good number for our team and the campaign that we were in. I'm going to go in today to work some extra hours. I work tomorrow as well and Saturday. It works out very nicely to work this weekend, because it leaves me free to go to Saint John for Lisa's musical next weekend. Mom said she would pick me up on Friday and Jackie is also going home (to N.S) that weekend and offered to drive me home on Monday, thanks!! Then I work Tuesday... I think this will be a very nice summer. I'm not going to look for an apartment for another month or so, because they are all available to soon. I didn't realize, but most people don't look for apartments 4or 5 months before they need it, hmph! Our lease isn't over until August 31st, 2007, so I'm going to wait until late June,July to start looking again. The guy that I was going to take the apartment from (with the small bedroom) was very nice about me backing out (I told him I couldn't afford it right now) and he said to check back when I need an apartment, maybe something will be available. He seemed very nice and the tenants seemed happy with him as well. If the bedroom wasn't so small we would have taken it. The tenants said that there was an apartment upstairs, so maybe that would be larger. I could always ask about that (when the time comes). Gotta get something to eat....write later

Sunday, May 06, 2007

We went to see the apartment yesterday. It was a nice place. There is only one other apartment above ours in the whole building. The deck was small, but the yard was big. The bedroom is quite small though. I think my bed and maybe a night table will fit in, but nothing else. There is a large, unfinished back shed off the kitchen where we can store our bikes and stuff. They didn't have a measuring tape and I had forgotten mine, so I didn't gt a chance to measure the rooms. The kitchen is a good size and our table will fit. It was a little drafty, but I'm sure I could figure out a way to fix that. I emailed the landlord last night and told him that we would like to take the apartment. One problem though, if we can't find a tenant by the end of this month, we are responsible for June's rent at this apartment as well. Which is weird b/c Pat said that she would let us out of our lease, as long as we told her as soon as we knew when we were moving. I suppose, 3 weeks is really short notice. Sam liked the apartment right away. He didn't need any time to think about it. For people that know me, you know I worry. Last night I was worrying until at least 3:30am about my bed fitting in the bedroom. It is a really awkward room. I don't want to move into a place that my bed won't even fit, although, now that I think about it, they had a double bed and dresser in the room, so My bed will fit at least. The apartment above us is vacant until July 1st. The livingroom is a really ugly bright blue though, so we would have to paint. It is only a 15min walk from King street. I'm going to go to the grad mass today. I'm meeting Anne at her apartment and we are just going to walk down to the school together. I should take the puppy out for a walk though. Write later...

Sam and I had a nice weekend. We were picked up in Fredericton by my mom. We got to SJ and dropped Gizmo and Snowball off at mom and Richards house and arrived at Sams parents alittle later. It was a nice retirement party. Barb had made so much food and treats, it was ridiculous. The kids were all at a babysitters, so it was just the adults, which was nice b/c we were drinking. One of John's friends was the designated driver for the evening and drove a wack of people home, so Sam and I didn't even have to pay the ridiculous cab fair to Westgate. Sunday, mom had a potluck/bbq. Again there was alot of food and drinking. It was a nice evening. Thanks! My friend Tasha came to the potluck, it was really nice seeing her. I almost had an appointment to see the apartment for this Friday, but Sam called me and told me he was working until 8pm. So, I emailed the guy and we are all trying to coordinate schedules to see the apartment. It's available for June 1st, so we'd be moving at the end of this month!! But it sounds like a nice place (with a backyard) and they will let me have gizmo, so I think this is just what I'm looking for. it would still be close to a grocery store, bank and coffee place (I think Robins).Anne, Jackie and I are going to hang out together today. We have a plan to go for tea downtown at 4ish. Well gotta get something to eat....

So, at 3pm I called the landlord on her cell phone (she had told me to). No answer, I left a message. Then I called her cell and home phone at 3:15pm, cell at 3:30pm, and 4pm. No answer. What a shitty landlord she would be if a tenant or possible tenant can't even contact her. I was looking online for other apartments and nothing new is there. I don't know what I'm going to do. I really don't want our quality of living to go down and have to live in a shit hole to have Gizmo. This is ridiculous!! I am so frustrated. I don't want to have to hide Gizmo all the time just to live in a decent apartment. Sam and I went out to dinner at Smitty's tonight and he bought his father a retirement present and card. So the evening was nice, but the day very disappointing. Wish me luck in my search for an apartment, I'll need it!:(

I called that landlord and set up an appointment to see the apartment on Friday. The lady told me that she would have to get ahold of the current tenants and set it up, just call her at 3pm on Friday to double check that our appointment is still on for 5pm. It was really hard to get in touch with her. She works days and into the evening and I work evenings. I was just talking to Pat and I guess that an apartment downstairs brought a dog to stay with them without even asking her. So, she wants Gizmo to go to Saint John for a week or two. That will work out ok I think b/c we are going to sj this weekend and then mom and Richard are coming up a week later for my graduation. The other day the girl upstairs who has a dog, but keeps it indoors all the time was outside with her dog (which is a little bigger than Gizmo) and Gizmo went over to introduce herself and the other dog was terrified of her! It was making sounds and sticking close to the owner. This dog is almost a year old and Gizmo is the first dog it had ever seen!! She keeps it locked in the apartment all the time and litter trained the dog. I hope this apartment is a decent size, its a one bedroom again. We wanted a two bedroom, but Gizmo limits what we can get. This is the only landlord, in the entire city, that will allow small animals. I told her I have a little dog. Well there was another landlord, but the apartments were quite a bit more expensive and you had to get tenant insurance as well. Anyway gotta get something to eat. Write later.

I just noticed that I haven't posted in a week and figured that it was time to do so. I have been so lazy this last week!! I mean ridiculously lazy, well I cleaned, but it's so weird to have no committments other than work. I don't have to read boring articles that I'm not interested in, no writing essays. It's great! So, Sam and I are going to Saint John this coming Saturday for his dad's retirement party. I'm not to sure what else our visit will consist of, but it should be interesting. I'm not really looking to hard for another job. I don't think anything decent will be available until August or September anyway. I did apply for the Federal student work experience program, so maybe something will come of that. I work enough to pay the bills and have some spending money and it's working out well enough. Working at connect is really felxible too. I can pick up as many hours as I want and only "have" to be there twice a week and every other Saturday. I worked it so that I can leave at 3pm on Saturday to go to Saint John. My supervisor said it was fine as long as I made up the 3 hours, which I had on last Wednesday. I may have found an apartment downtown on Aberdeen street for September that will allow Gizmo. I talked to the landlord, Ms Phil Williams, a couple of times. I'm pretty sure the apartment is available for September, which would work out really well. It is less than what we are paying here, I hope it's not tiny. I still have to call and set up an appointment to go see it. The only thing is that it is a 12 month lease again, and I really didn't want to have to be stuck in a place. Oh well, having Gizmo limits my options. Jackie was talking to the landlord of the apartments down the street and I'm unsure of exactly what he told her, something about hiding the fact that we have a dog. I don't want to get evicted from a place though.I don't think that would be very good. I'll ask her later when I see her. Well, I'm going to go get showered and dressed......:)

So, we went to see the apartment toda at 2pm, I had made the appointment on Friday. We walked throught the hail to get there and when we arrived and knocked on all the apartment doors looking for Ryan, he was no where to be found. Thankfully Sam had his cell phone and we had brought his number. We called and told him we were outside the building for our appointment and he said that he had already rented the apartment and just forgot to call and tell us. So there we were, in the hail, not very happy. We walked to STU to hand in my last assignment, got a cofffee and then took a cab to Smitty's. Sam treated us to lunch and then we hung out and went to the pet section of Walmart. It was good, I needed some pine shavings for the bunny and some dog food for Gizmo. I'm done school!! All done. If I don't want to get up until 12pm tomorrow or later, I don't have to! I work tomorrow, but don't have to catch the bus until 3:58pm. I really wish there was some job placement programs or a job placement type of thing for graduates at STU. There is nothing to help the graduates find a job. Hopefully some stuff will become available in May or June. I don't know what we are going to do about apartments. Landlords in this city are completely against tenants with pets, especially dogs. I don't want to live in a dump to have Gizmo. I have to give my notice for this place June 1st/07 and I was hoping to have found a place before I give my notice. Oh well I still have all of May to find a place. I'll just have to walk around and look for signs that say apartment for rent, I'd like to stay in this area, we're close to everything. Wish me Luck....

I only have one more thing due tomorrow and then I'm DONE!!! Done writing stupid research papers that no one cares about 5 seconds after you hand then into your professor (who doesn't ever appreciate how much work you put into it, or how vague their instructions were). No more sitting through lectures and taking multiple pages of notes. No more!! Ahhh......I can just imagine it now...sitting around after work (whereever that may be) and doing nothing, that's right nothing, because you can finish whatever needs to be done at work the next day. hmmm....I clean when I procrastinate....I wonder...when I don't have assignments to procrastinate doing....what will I do? We are going to look at a 2 bedroom apartment tomorrow at 2pm. I'm not getting my hopes up at all this time. It's available for July 1st, so we'd have to tell Pat right away if we were to take it, so that we could all try and find someone. But she said she has people calling about 1 bedrooms already and it's easier to rent for July. The landlord sounded pretty laid back about me having Gizmo too. I asked about the apartment and then asked him what his policy was on pets, dogs specifically. He said that they were allowed as long as they weren't loud. When I told him I had a little shitzu he laughed and said that it was fine. Jackie is moving July 1st as well. She and Mike are going to get a two bedroom in the same building, possibly on the same floor, so moving won't be to much hassle. I wrote my assignment all day today and I think it turned out pretty well, this professor wasn't as vague as the others. I got up at 9am this morning for some crazy reason, I don't know why, I could've slept in. Now I'm getting kinda tired...yawn...I think I'll take a nap, maybe....I would like some ice cream though...hmmm

The apartment was, well.....a basement apartment. I knew that it was, but I kinda forgot what that meant. Well, it meant that it was very chopped up. The bathroom was tiny, only having a shower stall, which was o.k cause I don't take baths, but it was ridiculously tiny. The first bedroom was off of the kitchen and had no closet and was not very big. The second bedroom was small, but had a closet and the kitchen was really tiny. I don't know if I've ever mentioned this before, but I have a really bad fear of falling down stairs. I'm pretty sure that's the way that my life will end, me & a set of steep stairs. So, my point is, this apartment had the Steepest stairs in the World, and seeing how I foresee my death involving stairs, I'm not put steep ones into my life any earlier than need be. So that didn't work out, BUT I was looking online today (even though I told mom I wouldn't) and I seen a 2 bedroom apartment available for July 1st, so I called and the guy said he was o.k with a small dog. We are going to go see it on Monday, it's only a block away from where we live now. It's on regent, which is not ideal, but having a Gizmo limits my options, so I can't be to picky about location. As long as it's on the Southside. OH!! I had my gerontology exam this morning and I think I did really well, I'm feeling confident. I got done in 45mins. There were people who got done before me too. The midterm was ridiculously hard and no one did well, so I think she made the final easier to bring the class gpa up. It was multiple choice, true/false, and fill in the blank!! No short answer questions or anything!! Woohoo!! I also finished typing up my sociology of religion final that is due tomorrow, so that'll be done. After that I just have to write my development issues final paper and I'll be done with University!! The job market in this city blows! I am really going to have to do some serious job hunting. I'll stay at Connect for now, while I'm searching, but I do not want to work in a call center for the rest of my life, blah!! Anyway gotta get ready for work....

I was looking at the information board at school the other day and seen an apartment that is available for September 2007.I called about it, cause there wasn't much information on the sign. It is a 2 bedroom, heat and cable included 630$ month. It is right on Montgomery street, which is only a block away from where we live now. That's less than what we are paying for this 1 bedroom. It is a basement apartment, but heat is included so I'm not to concerned about it. I think the woman said that her and her boyfriend live upstairs, so I think it's the whole bottom floor of a house. She said that they don't allow pets, but I told her that I had a little dog, who had been to an obediance school (puppy playschool), has all of her needles and is quiet. She said that they would want to meet Gizmo before they decided, which is great, cause everyone likes her when they meet her. I hope it's an actual two bedroom apartment, with doors and everything, not just area's curtained off. I hope I'm not setting my expectations to high (dripping with sarcasm). It would relieve alot of stress if this apartment turns out to be nice. I could then give Pat my notice and know where we are going to be living. Mom was going to come up today, but the weather foiled our plans, she said she will come up tomorrow if the weather is better. That would work out even better, because she would be able to drive Sam, Gizmo and I down to see the apartment tomorrow at 2pm. That way Gizmo wouldn't get wet and would be looking (and smelling) her best. I had my last class this morning!! I am almost completely finished my time at university, I am so excited! I have two big assignments due on Tuesday, one written exam on Thursday the 12, and one takehome due on Friday (the 13, hmm...). My graduation is May 7th/07!! I am so excited to be done school, wondering what I'll do for work, but I applied for a wack of government stuff for recent graduates. I worked yesterday instead of today (because mom was coming up) and I think my supervisor tried to work it so that I could get paid for Friday. It would be nice, but I didn't expect it either way, so it doesn't really make a difference to me. It was nice of her to try though. I gotta do some cleaning, write later...
